History
e-Opportunity was founded in 2005 by two University of North Texas students, Justin Thomason and Tucker Covington. The idea for the business came when the two friends realized that not enough small businesses were selling their products online. Their research findings concluded that small businesses were not doing business online for several reasons, mostly security issues and fear of the unknown. However, the friends realized that these businesses were missing out on a huge opportunity in a rapidly growing sector of the economy. With this in mind, Thomason and Covington wrote a business plan that would allow them to leverage their expertise to help businesses sell online safely and securely. Seeking investment capital the two friends entered their business plan into The University of North Texas New Venture Creation Contest. The rest is history. They made it to the finals and eventually beat out six finalists to win venture funding. After Mr. Thomason's graduation with a B.B.A. in Entrepreneurship & Strategic Management in August of 2005 the business launched with one goal in mind, help small businesses become more competitive and profitable in the global marketplace.
